Adventure
The discipline
Adventure workshops put photography inside genuine expeditions — trekking passes, packrafting rivers, winter ridgelines — with mountain professionals handling safety while photographers handle the pictures. The craft is working fast in weather with cold hands and a moving team: gloves-on camera handling, weatherproofing, and the judgement of when the camera stays in the bag.
Itineraries are honest about effort. Read them twice.

Field notes
Set the camera up for the day before the day starts.
Photograph the effort, not just the summit. The effort is the story.
Cold kills batteries and decisions in the same order. Warm both.
Questions, answered
How hard are these really?
Each page grades distance, altitude, and exposure plainly, and the grading errs pessimistic. If in doubt, write to us and describe your last long walk.
Is safety gear provided?
Group technical and safety equipment, yes — ropes, shelters, communications. Personal kit lists are published per workshop.
What camera survives this?
Almost any recent body with weather sealing and care. We teach the care; insurance for the gear is your side of the deal.
